وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا قَرۡيَةٗ كَانَتۡ ءَامِنَةٗ مُّطۡمَئِنَّةٗ يَأۡتِيهَا رِزۡقُهَا رَغَدٗا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٖ فَكَفَرَتۡ بِأَنۡعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلۡجُوعِ وَٱلۡخَوۡفِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصۡنَعُونَ
Và Allah đưa ra một thí dụ so sánh: Có một thị trấn an ninh và yên bình (Makka), được tiếp liệu lương thực dồi dào từ khắp nơi, nhưng nó phủ nhận những An Huệ của Allah cho nên Allah bắt nó nếm mùi tận khổ của sự đói khát và sợ sệt do điều (tội lỗi) mà (dân cư của) nó đã từng làm ra.
