AL-FIL

Ayah: 1

أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ
Oare n-ai văzut tu [o, Mohammed] ce a făcut Domnul tău cu oamenii elefantului?[1]
[1] Armata sub comanda lui Abrahah al-Așram ce era însoțită de un elefant uriaș și care a venit cu intenția să distrugă Ka’bah la Mecca

Ayah: 2

أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖ
Oare nu a făcut El vicleșugul lor să fie în deșert?[2]

وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ
Și a trimis peste ei păsări în stoluri,

تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ
Ca să arunce asupra lor cu pietre din lut ars!

فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۭ
Și i-a făcut pe ei asemenea paielor mestecate[3].
[3] Ca și cum ar fi fost mâncate de animale. Acest eveniment a avut loc în anul în care s-a născut Profetul (pacea și binecuvântarea lui Allah fie asupra sa).
